On the 28th, Daegu City held the "2024 Daegu SME Business Awards" at EXCO, with the attendance of over 150 small

and medium-sized business representatives who have contributed to the local economy.

Now in its 29th year, the event was held under the theme "Daegu-Gyeongbuk Administrative Integration: Growing Bigger Together with SMEs!"

It featured an awards ceremony for outstanding SMEs and star companies, a briefing on the administrative integration initiative, and a special lecture by industry experts.

In the Outstanding SME Awards, the Grand Prize went to Kuyoung Tech Co., Ltd., recognized for its leadership in the manufacturing and

production of internal combustion engine components and its outstanding technological capabilities, representing the Daegu region.

The Excellence Awards were presented to BLUESEN Co., Ltd. and Aegis Co., Ltd.

The Merit Awards were awarded to Odae Co., Ltd., Korea Fire Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and YH Database Co., Ltd.

Additionally, Daegu City selected ten companies to receive the Outstanding Star Company Award, along with plaques and honors.

The city has been promoting the Star Company Development Program since 2007.

The Outstanding Star Company Award is granted based on annual evaluations and is given to companies that have shown remarkable growth and contributed

significantly to revitalizing the regional economy. According to the city, the average sales of the awarded companies in 2023 reached

KRW 84.7 billion (approx. USD 61 million), with an average of 112 employees.
