Daegu is drawing attention as a global water industry base as exports of companies
in the Daegu National Water Industry Cluster have increased significantly.
Daegu City announced on the 2nd that sales of five companies, including Suntech Engineering (CEO Son Chang-sik),
increased 29-122% year-on-year last year out of 36 companies that moved into the national water industry cluster.
Suntech Engineering's export performance to the U.S. and Taiwan last year,
which localized multi-item water quality measuring instruments for the first time, increased 23% from the previous year.
Sales also increased 88 percent to 15 billion won.
The company was selected as one of 10 innovative water companies selected by the Ministry of Environment in June last year.
In addition, the automatic water quality adjustment drain device was selected as an innovative product of the Public Procurement Service,
and two innovative prototypes (smart drinking fountain, automatic drain device) were listed in the Public Procurement Service for the first time in Korea.
