Kang Su-hyung (The mayor of Yangju) attended the Water Sarangbang & World Heritage Advertisement Center
opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony,
The mayor of Yangju, K-water officials and citizens, etc
About 100 people attended to celebrate the opening of the advertising center.
Water Sarangbang & World Heritage Advertisement Center is a part of the MOU between Yangju and K-water,
it was made to promote the registration of World Heritage and to increase citizens' convenience.
The advertisement center was built on a 60㎡ scale,
and inside, there is composed tap water drinking space for visitors such as a Smart Water Fountain, and tumbler washer.
and experience space as leaflet and booklet provision, promotional video screening, etc,
and outside, installed promotion panel as world heritage listing, photos, etc.
Meanwhile, Yangju has conducted about 7 years of academic study since 2015.
On July 20 last year,
Hoiamsa Temple Site in Yangju was registered as a temporary UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In early January this year,
Yangju established a World Heritage TF Team and promoted a project as Comparative study, preservation, management,
and promotion of similar heritage in Korea and abroad
for listing UNESCO world heritage.
A Yangju official said
"By establishing the World Heritage Advertisement Center,
we will advertise the value of the Hoeamsa temple,
and it can be a chance to list UNESCO heritage."
and "please give a lot of interest and support from citizens
for our representative cultural heritage, Hoeamsa temple, listed as UNESCO heritage.
